Downwell is an electronic project by Giorgi Kolbaia, a Tbilisi-based musician and DJ. The debut EP released by Oraculo Records, titled “I See Death in Your Eyes”, set the tone for the project by showcasing its characteristic blend of EBM and techno, offering an experimental listening experience. The runner-up, “Oppression Index”, picked up by X-IMG, is an eight-track journey packing a punch, a powerful embodiment of the artist’s reflections on the political milieu in his native Georgia, as well as the struggles of various people around the world. Downwell’s latest EP, “Relative Strangers”, was captured on wax by Persephonic Sirens.
