Hørd is a project by Sebastien Carl, a French videographer, singer, sound designer and electronic musician. One can feel Carl’s multimedia state of mind through the immersive quality of his tracks, oscillating between epic and gloomy. Filled with chilling synth pads, ghostly reverb and urban audacity, Hørd's music flirts with a gothic/darkwave aesthetic in a forward-thinking way. His sounds cycle through post-punk, EBM, shoegaze and techno elements to create haunting soundscapes, sometimes beat-driven, other times more inward-looking and contemplative. Hørd has been making its eerie appearance on live stages from Italy to Russia since 2014, releasing music on highly regarded imprints like Avant! Records, Giallo Disco and Sacred Court. Giallo Disco Records have described Hørd’s music as “reverb-soaked urban-gothic melancholic songs, between synth-shoegaze and violent EBM,” and believe the album “Focus on Light” “will resonate strongly with fans of Pornography-era The Cure, Joy Division and classic Nine Inch Nails.”
